Tim McGraw Kicks Some Butt

Okay, I can’t really say that I’m a huge Tim McGraw fan, but I do respect a man who is willing to stand up for a woman being harassed or abused.  In a concert at White River, Tim apparently spotted a woman in the crowd who was being harassed by a nearby fan.

After calling for security, he took matters into his own hands, so to speak, and hauled the offender onto the stage. Just before the incident came to blows, the guys from security stepped in and carried the guy off.  Even though the guy was pretty big, I think McGraw would have held his own.

Even if you don’t care for country music, you gotta respect a guy willing to help out someone in need.

Changing gears a bit, that’s one thing that MyInternetBusiness does … in a different sort of way, of course.  It helps people who are in need … financial need … to have a business of their own.  Our team shows you how to succeed.

Anyway, here’s to Tim McGraw and everyone out there willing to help.

MyInternetBusiness, Real Life and Golden Retrievers

MyInternetBusiness is what I do.  At least some of the time, anyway. And, to be honest with you, not THAT much of the time.  That’s one of the things I like about having a successful online business.  You don’t have to spend all of your time doing it. That’s really the reason I got started with MyInternetBusiness.  There are more important things I want to do with my life.

MyInternetBusiness is allowing me to focus on my "real life."  Not just punching a clock or doing the corporate deal to make a living.  I read a great book not too long ago called "Make a Life, Not Just a Living" by Ron Jensen.  It helped me to see that there’s a lot more to life than just work and making a living.  The freedom I enjoy through MyInternetBusiness is one of the things that I appreciate most.

In addition to my family, one of the things I enjoy are my two golden retrievers, Denali and Sierra. I don’t know if you have a pet, but these two blond sisters have brought a ton of fun and laughter into my days and nights.  They are always so joyful and full of life.  You can’t help but smile when you spend time with them and see how happy they are with life. I think they could teach all of us a thing or two.

So lighten up. Focus on what’s really important in your life. If you want financial freedom, check out MyInternetBusiness.  Whatever you decide to do, always remember that your life is a lot more important that what you’re doing to make a living.  I also recommend getting to know a golden retriever or two.  It’ll do you good.

MyInternetBusiness Without Darren Gaudry … Good or Bad?

With Darren Gaudry’s sudden exit from MyInternetBusiness, many people are wondering about the future of the company and if it’s still a good business to be involved with.  I’ve received a number of questions asking what’s going on and if they should go ahead and join.

My answer … GREAT things are happening … NOW is the best time to get in because a LOT of people will be joining once they introduce the next phase!

There’s no doubt in anyone’s mind that Darren Gaudry is an internet marketing genius.  This genius was a major component in creating MyInternetBusiness from the start.  His absence from the day-to-day operations, however, does not in the least threaten the solid marketing machine that he helped to build.

In fact, there is a lot of excitement around the MyInternetMarketing business community.  They are getting ready to launch a second "phase" of the business (which Darren Gaudry helped to build before his departure) and which is going to generate a number of exciting additions to the already well-endowed program. The details are due to be released next week.

So while Darren Gaudry will be missed, his departure seems to be stirring a new level of excitement and growth by the company itself.  Changes like this are not uncommon among major brands and have often preceded a major growth in market share as new ideas and strategies are implemented.

MyInternetBusiness is still one of the fastest growing and most exciting opportunities for internet entrepreneurs.  The level of quality products and sophisticated marketing technologies make this one of the best bets around.

Darren Gaudry Leaves MyInternetBusiness … A Shocking Announcement

The driving force behind the creation of the wildly successful MyInternetBusiness announced today that he is stepping down as co-leader of the company. Darren Gaudry, the co-founder and co-creator of MyInternetBusiness announced on YouTube that he is leaving the company and handing over the leadership to the two partners who helped him to create and launch the hugely successful internet marketing business phenomenon.

While the real reason behind Gaudry’s exit may remain obscured behind closed doors, there were subtle nuances in his announcement on YouTube that there may have been a "tiff" among the leadership that he was no longer willing to tolerate.  In his otherwise gracious appearance, Gaudry intimated that he was handing over the reigns to MyInternetBusiness over to his partners so that "they can run the company the way they want to run the company."

Gaudry also encouraged current members of MyInternetBusiness not to feel "abandoned."  He expressed great confidence in the leadership of the company and their ability to continue the successful direction that it seems to be headed.

There is no doubt that Gaudry’s exit will create some stir and that his presence will be missed.  His lighthearted, humorous style was a welcome addition to the web.

Whatever his reason for leaving, I for one, am sorry to see him go.  I am confident, however, that the foundation he laid while helping to build MyInternetBusiness will last and help many, many people to succeed on the internet.  As Gaudry stated in his closing comments, this is a dream that really can come true.

So all the best to Darren Gaudry.  I’m sure we’ll see him tinkering around cyberspace again soon.  He’s too talented to disappear completely.

To Link or Not to Link … That is the Question: Getting Quality Backlinks

Bill Shakespeare would be asking the same question had he been born a little later and taken up internet marketing instead of playwriting. (He would, no doubt, have been a GREAT copywriter!)

There seems to be some confusion (for me at least) on the whole issue of links pointing to and from your webpage.  I keep hearing murmurings of how Google and the other search engine police do not like "reciprocal" links where you basically "trade" links with another webmaster.  They also don’t like links from what they consider to be "bad neighborhoods," such as link farms or pages with no ranking with nothing but outbound links on them.

Most of us realize the importance of "inbound" links or "backlinks" pointing to our webpage, especially from sites with a high "PR" or page ranking.  These essentially count as a "vote" for our site and increase it’s popularity and ranking as a result.

But getting these highly-desirable backlinks from pages with a high PR rating is not as easy as some may think.  You can purchase links from high ranking pages, but this can get expensive and, if you’re paying by the month, your own ranking could fall as quickly as it started if you decide to cancel your subscription.

There has to be a bettter way. One approach that I was happily surprised with is a program by Michelle MacPhearson that shows you how to get one-way backlinks from websites with a PR ranking of 5, 6, 7 or above.  She outlines a 30-minute step-by-step process through her video tutorials that shows you how to create and submit software to online software directories that generate some impressive backlinking results.

While it sounds complicated, it’s actually relatively simple and easy to do.  Michelle’s video tutorials are amazingly easy to follow and the results from her methods are powerful.

There are, of course, many different ways to go about creating backlinks.  I’ve visited a number of forums and webpages with some great advice and tactics for how to create more inbound links to your site.

One of the more popular and effective methods I’ve found is through the use of social bookmarking sites such as Digg, Stumble Upon, Twitter and a host of others.  By "inter-linking" these with your main sales page, your blog, your Squidoo lens, etc., you can quickly create a network of backlinks that the search engine spiders love to feed on.

Another strategy which is working for a lot of people is creating a group, either through Yahoo Groups or some similar type of format, where members post their sites and all agree to add it to their own social bookmarking pages, such as Digg, Stumble Upon, etc.  I’m currently working with my "team" doing this and it’s working great. We all "digg" through each other’s posts and help each other to increase our ranking with the search engine. If you’re curious about joining us, send me an email or comment on this post and I’ll let you into our secret lair.

So the question of whether to link or not is not really a question.  You absolutely MUST get incoming links or backlinks coming into your site.

Be careful, however, where you get these links from.  Be very conservative on "trading" links.  According to everything I’ve been reading, "reciprocal" linking does very little to help you and could potentially work against you.

Also be careful with how many "outgoing" links you have on your site.  Depending on how many links you have and where they are pointing, you could be shooting yourself in the foot in terms of your standings in the search engines.

All this is, of course, much more complicated and detailed than I am qualified to discuss.  There are some fantastic sites that go into the ins and outs of what to do and what not to do to get quality links coming into your site.  It’s an important topic to consider and to research.

The bottom line is that you will definitely need quality backlinks pointing to your site if you ever want to increase your ranking with the search engines.  It’s worth looking into and doing it right from the start.

Happy Linking.

(P.S. – do me a favor and "Digg" this site … what can I say? … I need a another incoming backlink!)

Content Or Frequency: SEO Ranking Strategies

Many, if not most, home computer work opportunites come through working on the internet.  The more we understand about marketing on the internet, but more we understand how important SEO, or Search Engine Optimization, becomes.

One question that seems to consistently come around is whether it’s more important to post quality content or to post more frequently (if if the "quality" of the content is less than stellar).

The obvious answer is that you should do both.  Quality content posted frequently is your best bet to getting noticed by the search engines as a site that is "relevant" and, therefore, as worthy of a higher ranking.

But if you had to CHOOSE between the two, I’d have to say … it depends. (How’s that for ambiguity. I should have gone into politics.)

Seriously, it depends.  On the one hand, you can have the most incredible content, but if you only post once a quarter (or less), then you’re going to lose your audience and be viewed by the search engine robots as less "relevant" than some idiot posting garbage three times a week to his blogger blog.

On the other hand, if all you are posting is worthless drivel, eventually people are going to catch on and simply stop visiting.  Garbage is garbage no matter how much of it you throw on the plate.

While I stick by my first suggestion of needing BOTH good content and frequency, I’d have to say … albeit reluctantly, with apologies to Dr. Howard, my college writing professor … that it’s more important to add content frequently than for that content to be high quality.

Why do I say this? (And I know I’m going to get blasted by the purists.)  The reason is, most people and search engine robots, can’t really tell the difference.  This is not a rampage against the education system and the horrific standards of literacy around the world; it’s just a fact.

Now, this can actually be good news for many of us.  The fact that we’re never going to be compared with Hemmingway, Shakespeare or even Dave Berry should no longer stop us from taking a stab at writing content for our website.  If we’re consistent, even our poorly composed drivel can feed the search engines and help toward increasing our standings.

With that said, however, I really DO think that the emphasis should be on creating QUALITY content.  In the long run, it’s a more profitable strategy even if it takes you a little longer to get ranked.  Good stuff sticks around while the drivel gets flushed down the … well, you know.

So the bottom line is to post often, but to post quality content that has value for your readers.

MyInternetBusiness Press Release for Home Computer Work

United States of America (Press Release) June 3, 2008 — The internet marketing community is buzzing over the recent release of Darren Gaudry’s release of MyInternetBusiness for home computer work, which has been heralded by many experts to be ‘the most highly-anticipated launch since Google’. Today we interviewed Tim Wright, a Platinum-level member of MyInternetBusiness and part of the WrightMentors training team.

Prior to its launch, few actual details were known about MyInternetBusienss. Mr. Wright commented that ‘Most people realize that a lot of people have become millionaires through internet marketing, but very few actually believe that THEY themselves are capable of it. MyInternetBusiness is a high-tech, multi-media training system that is designed to provide people with the tools, the software, the mentoring and, most importantly, the Mindset that will allow them to achieve massive wealth working online; something that the majority of internet marketers fail to achieve.’

When asked about the products in MyInternetBusiness, Mr. Wright explained, "Each of the four different levels of ownership within MyInternetBusiness come with their own products, which include Digital products, an exclusive travel club, the NetMillionaire audios, as well as physical products. The digital products include a hugh portfolio of premium internet marketing software selections and a library of educational e-books that teach users, step-by-step, all aspects of the internet marketing industry. The sheer volume of selection is ideal for both novices and veterans alike.’

We then asked Mr. Wright about the physical products, and learned that his personal favorite is the The Net Millionaire Training System , a unique board game/training package which encourages the users to have fun while learning about online wealth-building strategies. ‘We all know that making money is fun,’ Mr. Wright said laughing, ‘This product lets you have fun while you’re LEARNING HOW to make money . It’s a great way to learn for the whole family. It’s similar to Robert Kiyosaki’s popular Cash Flow Quadrant game where you’re having fun but, without even realizing it, you’re also getting a million dollar education.’
The list of exclusive products offered by MyInternetBusiness is being added to almost daily. At the Platinum level, members have access and resale rights to approximately $65,000 worth of products, many of which are exclusive to MyInternetBusiness and unobtainable anywhere else.

Commenting on the video-tutorials and live trainings that are available through the MyInternetBusiness back office, Wright stated, ‘Darren Gaudry and his team have tried to make this system as foolproof as possible. All the tools you could want are included…but it’s critical to have someone who knows how to use these tools to walk you through the process and teach you how to use them. That’s where the WrightMentors training team comes in.’

The WrightMentors training team is a group of top-earners and leaders who provide free training and marketing services to their members. Mr. Wright revealed that they provide a variety of training resources including professionally-designed webpages, email campaigns and even closing services. ‘Yes, we will actually call our members’ interested prospects to close the sale and get them started.’ MyInternetBusiness also provides closing services through professional assistants specifically trained to close sales for members.

‘One of the main things,’ explained Wright, ‘is helping our members to develop Daily Methods of Operation that walk them through step-by-step what actions to do each day to succeed in their business.’

Mr. Wright emphasized in closing, ‘While MyInternetBusiness is an incredibly powerful multi-revenue business opportunity, you need to make sure that you join with an experienced mentoring team like ours that will take the time to make sure you are successful.’

Mr. Wright can be reached for further comment at the address below.

Top Ten Tips to Build Your Opt In List

If you’ve been trying to make money on the internet for any time at all, no doubt you’ve heard the phrase, “The money’s in the list.” The “list” is a collection of names and email addresses from people who have “opted in” to your website to get more information about your product or service or to get something free that you’ve offered them in exchange for entering their information into the opt in form. Building your own list is one of the fundamental keys to successfully marketing on the internet … period.

There are a number of effective ways to build your list. Some are more effective than others. The main thing is that you have a strategy and a system that makes building your list a priority within your overall online business plan.

It’s important to remember that building your list will take some time. But, while it doesn’t usually happen overnight, you can build your list to a healthy size relatively quickly with a little effort, a good strategy and a system in place.

The mistake that most people make is that they jump straight into their sales presentation before trying to capture their visitor’s information. This is not only a mistake … it is a HUGE mistake.

Most people, as I’m sure you’ve heard many, many times before, only respond to a sales presentation after they’ve been exposed to it at least six times. I’m not sure why this is. Maybe it’s a trust factor. Maybe it’s just that most of us take a long time to make up our minds. But whatever the reason, it’s important. If you only have one “shot” at making a sale when a visitor comes to your website, chances are you will never hear from him or her again. If you can convince them to give you their name and email, however, you have a good opportunity to build a relationship with them (trust) and present your offer to them MANY times over the course of time.

I’m assuming here that you already know what an autoresponder is and how it works. Basically, an autoresponder is a program or service that sends out pre-written email messages to people who join your “list.” For more information, visit or one of the other autoresponder services on the web.

So what are some strategies and methods to build your own list? Here are ten techniques, in no particular order of importance, that have been effective for me and many others in building an email list.

1 – Offer a Free Newsletter – Offering a free newsletter to people who visit your website is one of the most common, as well as one of the most effective ways to build an opt-in list. Since it’s free, more people are more likely to subscribe. This is one of the best tools for building a trusting relationship with your list.

Make sure your newsletter provides real value to your readers. Don’t just blast them over and over with a barrage of sales pitches. If you do, you’ll have a lot of people hitting the “unsubscribe” button after the first few emails. Pack your newsletter full of useful information. Offer free resources, tips, tools, and anything else your subscriber list might be interested in. Also, be sure to make it fun and add your own personality to it. When you do this, your subscribers will begin to look forward to your messages and get to know you (and trust you) at the same time.

2 – Include Quality Content – The quality and relevance of the content on your website is probably one of the MOST important factors in getting people to visit and, subsequently, to opt-in to your newsletter or request form. If your content is good enough, other websites will begin linking to your site as a resource, which will drive even more traffic to your site and boost your rankings in the search engines. Eventually, this begins to grow exponentially, helping your list to grow into a virtual money-making machine as you are viewed by more and more people as an “expert.”

3 – Blog – Blogging has become one of the most popular and effective ways to drive people to your website. For one thing, the search engine spiders absolutely LOVE blogs. Every time you post, the search engines view this as “fresh” content and will revisit your blog, thus helping to boost your ranking. You can either have links on your blog back to your main website or even include an opt-in form right on the blog. This blog is an example.

4 – Write Articles – Writing and submitting articles helps to establish you as an “expert” in your field, which, in turn, increases your credibility and the likelihood of readers visiting your website and opting in to your newsletter or request form. Plus, when your articles are published, you will have incoming links to your site which helps to boost your rankings with the search engines.

Make sure the articles you write are offering real value to your readers. Do your research and check your spelling. You should submit your articles to a variety of article directories and ezines.

Writing articles is probably one of the fastest and most effective ways to get quality visitors to your website and subscribers to your list. If your article is good, other webmasters will post it on their own websites giving you even more exposure. The “resource box” at the bottom of your article provides readers with information about you and how to contact you (i.e., your website).

5 – Post on Forums – Forums and topic-specific discussion boards are sites where people gather to discuss issues, to ask questions and to get one-on-one help from other forum members. Most forums offer a relatively high level of interaction among the members, which translates into a high level of trust.

When posting to forums, make sure that you actually contribute to the conversation and don’t just drop in a quick sales pitch. The verbal wrath of an active forum can resemble a violent shark feeding frenzy if members suspect that you’re crashing their board just to try to sell them something. Ultimately, you’ll end up doing more harm than good. Spend some time giving before trying to pitch anything. Usually a simple tag in your signature is enough to get visitors, especially if your contributions to the forum offer real value.

6 – Keep It Simple and Easy - To get people to sign up for your newsletter or request form, it has to be a simple and easy process. First of all, make sure the form is easy to find on your website and easy to fill out. The opt in form should be at or near the top of the page or in one of the side margins. Don’t bury it too deep in the copy, although you can actually have multiple forms throughout.

Don’t ask for too much information. The minimum you need is a name and email address. Sometimes you can ask for an optional phone number, but just be aware that most people either won’t give it to you or will give you a fake one. Don’t get bogged down with asking for an address, city, state, etc. Most simply won’t fill it out and you’ll lose them.

Put a quick sentence or two near the top of your form telling people why your newsletter or request form would benefit them (i.e. freebies, access to resources, tips, tools, etc.) The more “ethical bribes” you can offer, the better your chances that people will give you their information.

7 – Write an E-book – Writing an e-book is much easier to do than most people realize and it is an INCREDIBLY powerful way to build your list. You can even hire a freelance writer through a service like E-lance to do it for you for very little. Internet marketers are constantly looking for freebies to give away on their websites as a bonus for purchases or to entice people to sign up to their own lists. An e-book is a great way for you to build your own list by letting other internet marketers give it away.

Your e-book doesn’t have to be anything elaborate. It could be collection of your best articles, tips for running a business or a list of motivational ideas you write down during an afternoon at the bookstore. The key is to include links to your own newsletter subscription and website in content of the e-book. You then give it away for free and watch it explode into a viral list building machine for your business.

8 – Write a Press Release – Press releases are relatively easy to do and can be free or very inexpensive to release to the general public. They can literally be about anything having to do with you or your business. The best thing is to look at some examples on Google and copy their general layout and format.

Do a short press release announcing your website. Talk about the topic of your website and maybe even give examples of some of the content that visitors will find when they come to your site. If nothing else, you will have some curiosity seekers stopping by to see what all the fuss is about.

9 – Build a Squidoo Lens – Squidoo is one of the most popular and most powerful social networking sites on the web. It is similar in many ways to blogging and some of the other social networking sites like Facebook and MySpace, but offers a much more in-depth format for internet marketers. It is also extremely popular with search engines and is a great way to get more visitors to your website.

There are a number of helpful resources showing you how to effectively use Squidoo. The best thing is to open an account and jump in. You can play around and get everything just the way you want it before you actually “publish.” Be sure to add links to your website and opt-in pages.

10 – Email Marketing – The tried and true road to building a list is to send mail to other lists already in existence. There are hundreds of webmasters with huge lists of subscribers interested in the same types of things that you’re marketing. Subscribers in one list are more likely to join another.

There is a huge offering of free “safelists” where subscribers agree to receive your email in exchange for permission to send you theirs. There are also a number of very inexpensive paid lists that will send your offer to there members for a small fee. If you go this route, make sure your offer is enticing enough to get them to visit your site or to join your newsletter or request form.

So there you have ten of the top methods and strategies to build your opt-in list. Putting these tips into practice as soon as possible will yield dramatic results in building your list and increasing your online profits.

Happy building.
